Design Intent
Within their new lighting collection, noknok Studio explores how far a single line can be pushed, questioning whether one continuous gesture can define not only the structure of a lamp, but also its personality and function.
Loops draws inspiration from natural systems such as roots and vines. This influence is captured in the looping steel form, which functions as a key touchpoint, allowing the lamp to be easily repositioned. A tall cylindrical base anchors the design, creating a sense of visual stability that enhances the perceived height of the lamp. Above, the lampshade, reminiscent of an open book, can be rotated to adjust the
direction of light for perfect reading conditions. Through an exploration of proportions, each piece embodies a distinct personality. The Floor Lamp appears tall, elegant, and proud, while the Table Lamp feels like a small, playful companion. Through the Loops Lighting Collection, Noknok explores softening the language of steel, transforming it into something expressive and approachable.
